EICR – Converted Hotel Apartments, Mold

A.C. Electrical was instructed to carry out comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on a number of rental apartments within the former Old Bowling Green Hotel in Mold, a characterful historic building that has been converted into residential accommodation.

Properties of this age and type often contain a mixture of original and newer electrical installations, making thorough inspection and testing essential. Each apartment was carefully tested to assess the condition of the wiring, consumer units, protective devices, earthing and bonding, ensuring the installation met current safety standards and identifying any defects requiring attention.

Following the inspections, detailed EICR reports were produced, giving the landlord clear recommendations and helping them meet their legal responsibilities for tenant safety.

One of the most significant defects found during the inspection was a badly burnt 45A cooker switch. Despite the appliance still working normally, the overheating caused by a poor connection had severely damaged the switch. This highlights the importance of regular EICRs, as dangerous faults are often hidden and may not show any obvious signs before they become a serious safety risk.

Whether you own a single rental property or manage multiple apartments, A.C. Electrical provides professional EICRs with clear, honest reporting and practical advice.
