Consumer Unit Upgrade and Electrical Remedial Works in Prestatyn

A.C. Electrical recently completed an insurance-related electrical project in Prestatyn, North Wales following concerns raised during an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).

The property had previously undergone internal insulation works and a subsequent electrical inspection identified a number of issues requiring attention before the installation could be considered satisfactory.

Work Undertaken

Following investigation and testing, the following works were completed:

  • Replacement of the existing consumer unit with a modern FuseBox consumer unit
  • Full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)
  • Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) issued for the new consumer unit
  • Fault finding carried out on the downstairs ring final circuit
  • Replacement of a bathroom light fitting that did not provide suitable IP protection
  • Repair of a damaged socket outlet
  • Replacement of a faulty light switch
  • Full testing and certification of all completed work

Importance of Electrical Testing

An EICR is designed to identify defects, deterioration and safety concerns within an electrical installation. While many faults can be straightforward to rectify, some require detailed investigation and fault finding to identify the root cause.

In this case, the installation required a combination of remedial work, testing and certification to ensure it met current safety standards.

Consumer Unit Upgrades

Upgrading an older consumer unit can significantly improve electrical safety by providing modern circuit protection and allowing the installation to comply with current regulations.

If you require a consumer unit upgrade, EICR, fault finding service or general electrical work in Wirral, Chester or North Wales, A.C. Electrical is happy to help.
